“ We have never opposed matters being clarified with all the instruments that exist in the Assembly, including the CPI”, said Paulo Raimundo in statements to journalists during a contact with the population, which took place this morning in Lisbon, on the increase in cost of living.
The Secretary-General criticised, however, what he considered “a novel” on a subject that, although important, “is far from being the main concern” of people.
“ We are being confronted every day with statements, statements on statements, statements on the statements of others. If the time I spent with this was spent in solving the problem of people, wages, pensions, health, education, the brutal increase in the cost of living, the country would be better ", lamented.
Raimundo also stated, about the decision of the President of the Assembly of the Republic, José Pedro Aguiar-White, not to admit the proposal of the commission of inquiry of the Enough, that criteria were used that the party will have to “evaluate better”.
The communist leader also warned the parties that “going to prolong this novel”, claiming to be convinced that this is a subject that “ sooner or later will burst into their hands”.
“It is the last concern of the people, of these people who are passing here now. That's the last concern. They are more concerned with fuels, with food, with housing, with wages that do not arrive, with pensions that are short, that is the great concern of these people ", emphasized.
The president of the Assembly of the Republic rejected this Wednesday to admit the second version of the request of the Aquida for the constitution of a parliamentary committee of inquiry on the performance of Minister Luís Neves as national director of the PJ.
In the face of this decision, the leader of the Aquida, André Ventura, asked for a “previous talk” to Aguiar-Branco, referring to later the decision on whether to insist on the proposal of a committee of inquiry into the mandates of Luís Neves in PJ. The meeting takes place today, with statements from André Ventura on the meeting at 12 noon.
