“ Plink less, 76,000 people have fled their homes since July with the intensification of fighting”, announced in a statement the International Organization for Migration (IOM), warning that this crisis is escalating rapidly and changing the “every hour”.
In Dublin this morning, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, said he had had conversations with the pro-Yemen Huthis rebels, who asked Washington not to interfere with the conflict with Arabia.
“ We had conversations. The Huthis called us [...] and they don’t want us to attack them,” Trump said during a two-day visit to Ireland.
Donald Trump said he also talked to Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, and that despite the escalation of hostilities in the region, “everything will end well.”.
The Huthis offensive caused Saudi Arabia, the largest exporter of crude oil, to be in a delicate situation, as the Strait of Ormuz has been blocked by Tehran since the start of the war in the Middle East.
On the other hand, Saudi oil infrastructure was this week the target of a Huthis attack on drones and missiles.
