Saudi Arabia issued on Friday night for today warnings of risk of attacks on the capital for the first time since the resumption of hostilities with Yemen's Huthis, supported by Iran, followed by strong explosions heard in the city.
The warnings in Riyadh were the first in the Saudi capital since the latest escalation with the Huthis. No casualties or damage were reported after the alerts were lifted.
The Saudi authorities did not say what motivated the warnings or the cause of the audible explosions, but had previously reported the interception of approaching Huthis missiles and drones.
