Arussian authorities have issued enlistment subpoenas to most of the nearly 200 young people arrested last night in central Moscow, today denounced local media.

Some of the detainees were minor, according to the canals Ostorozhno Nóvosti and Astra, which include in their information videos of the parents gathered in front of the police stations to demand the release of the children.

Mass arrests occurred in the central district of Kitai-Gorod, not far from the Kremlin, in what the police described as “prophylactic operations” to prevent disturbances of public order. According to the Telegram Baza channel, some of the young people were opened administrative proceedings for drinking alcohol in a public place or disobedience to the forces of the order.

Young adults denounced abuse by some officers of the order, who gave them summons and coerced them to sign professional contracts with the Army to fight in Ukraine, even those who have extended studies.

The Russian authorities are trying to attract young and university students by all means to serve in the drone-using forces, although human rights organizations are reporting that many of those who enlist end up in assault units where the mortality rate is very high.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has been facing problems for many months to replace the tens of thousands of Russian soldiers who die or are injured – Ukrainian and Western sources speak of more than 40,000 monthly casualties – every month on the front.

In addition, according to the independent portal Mediazona, at least 350 recruits have died since the start of the war in Ukraine in February 2022, although theoretically they cannot serve in the territory of the neighbouring country.
