A polish police said today they had received information on possible assassination attempts by Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, who motivated an emergency meeting of the authorities.

The security services, police and representatives of the Ministry of Interior would meet from 11:00 local (10:00 in Portugal) at the Anti-Terrorist Center of the Internal Security Agency (ABW), to discuss the situation, Karolina Galecka, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, announced.

“Following the information received by the police about a possible assassination attempt against the Prime Minister (...) as well as the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of National Defense (...), the Minister of Interior (...) and the Minister of Special Services (...) ordered the launching of measures on this subject,” Karolina Galecka wrote on network X.

In September, Tusk had warned of possible hybrid attacks intensified by Russia on the eastern flank of NATO.

The Polish authorities were on high alert this week after three school attacks in four days in the province of Mazovia, in central Poland, where the capital, Warsaw is located.

Donald Tusk, former President of the European Council, denounced on Thursday a “cult of omnipresent violence in the world” that “has arrived in Poland”.
