U27-year-old man was in custody for suspected theft of vehicles, eight of which were recovered, and in residences, announced today the Viseu Territorial Command of the Republican National Guard (GNR).
“The suspect was already referred to by the same type of crimes, having served prison time. After being present at the Court of Justice in Viseu, it was applied the measure of coercion of preventive imprisonment ", said the GNR.
In a press release, the military of the Mangualde Criminal Investigation Center (NIC), indicate that on Sunday they arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of “car theft and home theft”.
The arrest took place following an investigation that took place “about six months ago” for theft of vehicles and theft inside residences in the municipality of Penalva do Castelo.
In the development of the investigation, GNR ended up conducting the “containment of the suspect, who was driving a stolen vehicle in that county” of Viseu district.
“In the course of the action eight vehicles were recovered stolen and delivered to their legitimate owners,” the Guard said.
The action included the reinforcement of military personnel from the Tondela GNR Territorial Post, also in Viseu district.
