Tire problem could have caused a fatal accident in Cape Verde

Acape Verdean authorities have not yet determined the circumstances in which the accident occurred which, on Saturday night, September 5, killed 25 people, including young people and children, on the island of Fire.

However, in statements to RTP 3, the director of Cape Verde Television (TCV), revealed that witnesses on site ensured that the 30-meter fall by a ravine below occurred due to a problem with the heavy passenger vehicle tire.

“ The reasons for the accident have not yet been determined by the authorities but according to some witnesses at the scene everything will have been caused by the explosion of a tire”, explained Anabela Varela, adding that, with this, “the car will have lost control and lost control in a zone that is a bit difficult, which is a descent and then a curve somewhat or rather accentuated”.
