Ofour PSP agents present on the outskirts of Praça D. João I, in Porto, since 12:30, left the place at 2:30 am without talking to the camp members and demanding the lifting of tents.

Arranged from the first hour to not spend the night in the square, but making the usual request of the PSP depend on it, the about 50 elements of the camp stay either in tents, already asleep, or abroad, talking, while above, also talking, were the four agents.

The silent arm, according to one of the agents, approached by the group of journalists still on site, lasted two hours.

Ten tents were set up at 10:30 p.m. in Praça D. João I, Porto – and later six – fulfilling the approved one about an hour earlier in the popular assembly, still not being visible the presence of the police in the vicinity.

PSP dispersed in the early hours of Sunday the camped by the right to housing in Rossio, in Lisbon, and in Praça D. João I, in Porto, removing about 100 tents. The intervention culminated in police charges and throwing objects, causing more than two dozen wounded between demonstrators and police.

The police action motivated a request for clarification from the President of the Republic to the Government and the Ombudsman, and the announcement of a criminal complaint by a lawyer for abuse of power against the Minister of the Internal Administration and the Director of the PSP.

In the camps, which began on October 10th, protesters demand the reversal of the new rental law, the end of demolitions and evictions without housing alternative, a brake on housing purchase by real estate funds, the increase in public housing, the recovery of vacant buildings for housing purposes and “truely accessible” ceilings to income.
