“Luís Montenegro, when he was elected to perform the position he now performs, promised that he would unite the country and in fact I think he fulfilled that promise fully. The country is united today against this law, against this aggression to Portuguese society ", said José Manuel Pureza, who spoke to journalists in Batalha Square, in Porto, at the start of the march for housing that takes place this afternoon to Praça D. João I.

porto, where protests and camps began on the 10th, the start of the march was scheduled for 16:30, but suffered a delay.
It will travel the streets of the city to D. João I Square, where, by 19:30, the usual popular assembly will take place to decide whether or not tents will be set up to stay overnight in the square.
The protesters demand the reversal of the new rental law, the end of demolitions and evictions without an alternative housing, a stop to the purchase of housing by real estate funds, the increase in public housing, the recovery of vacant buildings for housing purposes and ceilings “truely accessible” to income.
