The Spotify streaming platform has released details about the new control key on your site, which has been enabled by default to include children's music in your preferences profile.

By deactivating it, these songs are left out of the personalized recommendations and the ‘wrapped’, the annual summary of artists, songs and genres most listened to by the user.

In this way, the user account, which may be connected to multiple home devices (such as Smart TV or tablet) so that family members hear their favorite songs on Spotify, will not have their usage patterns changed, keeping them connected to the account holder.

Spotify stressed that “experiences such as ‘discover weekly’, ‘daily mix’ and ‘wrapped’ reflect more precisely the user’s tastes,” and that change also applies retroactively.

In other words, the children’s songs played by the account holder will not count for the definition of the most heard song or artist in the annual wrapped when the key is disabled.

“ This update is the latest step in a series of efforts to give parents and tutors more control over how they and their children listen to music,” Spotify said in his statement.

The company stressed that this new function follows the line of others previously released, such as deletion of specific songs or playlists and expanded features of managed accounts for minors.

The new functionality to eliminate child music reproductions on Spotify is now available globally to users of free and Premium versions on mobile devices.
