News to Minutes

A Ford is strongly committed to revitalising its presence in Europe, with the intention of producing new models in partnership. One of them is with the Chinese Geely in Spain (Valencia), that will give the platform to the American manufacturer's SUV crossover resulting from cooperation.

According to Automotive News, cited by Motor1. with and by Auto Blog, ford's European SUV crossover will be based on GEA architecture (Global Intelligent Electric Architecture) – capable of plug-in hybrid models and 100 percent electric ones, which meets the model that was announced as “multienergy”.

In any case, the manufacturer of the Blue Oval has already ensured that the next proposals for Europe will have its identity firmly linked, even talking about an SUV with the design inspired by the rallyes that are the brand image of its history.

This is a type of collaboration that takes advantage of synergies, and at the end of 2025 Ford announced another similar with Renault – which will result in two electric models based on the Ampere platform and the possible joint development of light commercial vehicles.

But it will still take some time to see Ford's new SUV on the market, since production is expected only for 2028. The collaboration between Ford and Geely also provides for a new Ford Bronco, such as two Geely electric SUVs.

Ford and Geely join forces to manufacture cars for Europe on the Iberian Peninsula – more specifically at the American manufacturer's plant in Valencia (Spain). To this end, they will set up a joint venture mainly owned by Ford.
