“ Para a brief history of water” is a creation of André e. Teodosio and José Maria Vieira Mendes, and has interpretations of Joana Barrios and Miguel Guilherme, among other actors.

“ In an era in which environmental issues are increasingly important and where the planet is at risk, the company “dedicates its attention to each of its five elements, following an outdated but still active theory, to study its past and its present, in a cycle called “For a Brief History of Elements”, reads in the short synopsis of the piece, published in the CCB website.

The reference binds to ancient systems that include the elements water, fire, earth, air, but which may also consider others as wood, metal, ether or void.

Distancing “the discussion about the measures to be taken or the response to be proposed, these shows talk with the elements, seeking a more available fictional approach to listen than affirm,” adds the presentation of the cycle by the theater company, stressing that in this first show “each of the elements is a narrator and protagonist”, with humans emerging “only as guests”.

“For a brief history of water”, which brings together the interpretations of Ângelo Castro, Joana Barrios, Miguel Guilherme, Patrícia Bruheim and Tomás Garcez, has scenes by Luís Lázaro Mato, music by Alex D’Alva Teixeira, costumes by Joana Barrios and light drawing by Daniel Worm D’Assumpção.

The show, a production of the Prague Theatre together with the CCB, is on stage until December 5th, with recites on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday at 5:00 p.m.

On December 6, the session has interpretation in Portuguese Sign Language.

The second show of the same cycle of the Prague Theatre – “For a brief history of fire” – also with the creation of André e. Theodosio and José Maria Vieira Mendes, has premiered for the room Luis Miguel Cintra, at the S. Luiz Theatre, on June 30, 2027.

According to the company, shows dedicated to earth and air will follow, with the fifth element still to be decided.
