Cknowing that the minhotos have the “challenge to improve” against the three previous matches, with Moreirense (1-1), where their players “did not go as well” as expected, Benfica (defeat by 2-0) and Lamelas, for the Cup of Portugal (triumph by 1-0), the coach promises a “faithful” team to an attacking style, before an opponent “valuable”.
“The ‘receita’ [for the meeting] goes through a lot by playing our offensive football. The Maritime is a well-organized team, with experience, who knows ‘read the moments of the game’. We have to be strong. We have to have an offensive and engaging game, with the sides creating countless imbalances to win,” he said, in anticipation of the challenge set for 20:45 in Guimarães.
Hopeful on the return of the vimarans to “exhibitional levels” similar to that of the inaugural journey, despite the defeat with Arouca, of the triumph over the National (1-0), in the third round, and the draw with the Pia House (0-0), on Thursday, the ‘timoner’ also said that the Victory is always pressed to win.
“ We played every game to win. We have the pressure to win them all. The pressure has been on since the first game of the championship. The players are prepared for this. We really need the three points. The team is calm and confident and wants to win a lot”, he said, at a time when the Victorians add a triumph in the championship and occupy the 15th place, with five points.
Tiago Margarido also said that the continuity of Lucas Furtado in the goal, after having aligned against Lamelas, yielding Oliwier Zych, holder in the first eight rounds of the championship, is “a possibility”, but “not a guarantee”, having remembered the various changes operated in the team since the beginning of the season.
The coach also confirmed that the central defense Thiago Balieiro, a totalist in the championship, remains in doubt for the reception to the Madeirans, while the advanced Alioune Ndoye is back to the options after playing three suspension games.
The Vitória de Guimarães, 15th grade of the Portuguese League, with five points, receives the Marítimo, 12th, with eight, in game scheduled for Friday, at 20:45, at the Stadium D. Afonso Henriques, in Guimarães, with arbitration of Diogo Rosa, of the association of Beja.
