Marquez, 33 years old, who left the first line of the grid, had a less successful race start, but quickly regained positions and took control of the race, ending in front of compatriot Pedro Acosta (KTM) and Italian Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia), who had left the pole position, second and third respectively.

“ I managed to take the lead in the first corner, but then I made a mistake and two pilots overcame me. Then I found my rhythm and managed to win”, said Catalan driver, who achieved the 77th victory in the MotoGP category.

After also winning the Saturday sprint race, Márquez, champion in title, today added 25 points and recovered 14 for Martín, which finished in fifth position.

Pedro Acosta again starred in a high-level performance and finished in second place, but continued in search of the first victory in the MotoGP category.

Bezzecchi, who on Saturday had surprised Márquez by winning the ‘pole position’, closed the positive weekend with two third places, in the ‘sprint’ and in the main race, also approaching the championship leadership, now being 24 points from Martín.

The next MotoGP World Cup competition, the 14th of the 22nd of the championship, is held between September 11 and 13 in San Marino.
