Jyou woke up in the middle of the night thinking it was time to get ready to face another day's work, but when you looked down the street did you realize it was still dark out there?

Sleep doctors they reveal to Sleep. th occasional sleep interruption, and common episodes of insomnia may be related to stress factors, harmful sleep habits, environment and other conditions affecting rest, namely a poor application of Feng Shui techniques in the room.

If you haven't met this chinese practice associated with the harmonisation of spaces, know that it is the ideal time to learn more about the subject: Start prioritizing the quality of your rest for good.

How to use Feng Shui for rest?

“ The room is the space where we really are most vulnerable, where we sleep and where most intimacy happens,” describes Amanda Gibby Peters, author of “Simple Shui for Every Day: 365 Ways to Feng Shui Your Life.”.

The expert of this ancestral practice clarifies that the application of Feng Shui in the room may allow “to create a nest that signals to the nervous system that that is a place where you can shut down and relax quietly.”

When well executed, this method can “turn any space into a sanctuary of sleep and serenity”.

How can you implement this strategy?

This expert explains that it does not need a big design change to adopt a good strategy, sometimes simply simplify: “Organize objects and spaces intentionally to create harmony in the environment around you.”

This philosophy has roots in the Taoist belief that everything has its own qi (energy or life force), composed of yin and yang. However, according to Feng Shui, “a correct positioning of some of the household objects can balance the yin and yang forces, promote the flow of qi and help you achieve personal goals such as happiness and abundance,” the expert assures.

Note that before you go into practice, you need to recognize that Feng Shui classifies all objects into five distinct elements: water, wood, fire, earth and metal – each with distinct characteristics and symbols. “Adding or moving objects associated with specific elements is one of the easiest ways to adjust Feng Shui in an environment,” he says.

For Abby Magill Henry, Feng Shui's holistic designer and consultant, this can therefore be an especially powerful tool in the bedroom.

“ The fourth is one of our energy points, that is, it is a place where we spend a lot of time and where our vital energy (qi) focuses”, he explains.

Nevertheless, it identifies this space as “a neglected area that accumulates a lot of mess and that, over time, can degrade the energy of an environment.”

These are the strategies you can implement to improve the environment and, consequently, the quality of your rest

Reposition the bed

“In Feng Shui, the command position allows you to see both the problems and the opportunities to approach,” explains Peters. “This gives the subconscious a pause in the focus of safety and survival, helps nourish the nervous system and puts it in a privileged position to rest.” Remember here how can you put the bed to get this command position. We present two other options.

Remove items that do not promote rest

It's not only Feng Shui who suggests this, probably the people around him as well. If there's anything that sleep experts and Feng Shui agree on, it's keeping technology out of the bedroom. Feng Shui emphasizes that “the room should be reserved exclusively for sleep, sensuality and tranquility”, so if you have items in this space that are not serving these purposes, you will have to find other spaces in the house to keep them, according to Peters.

Start by removing “big items with high energy load, such as gym equipment, computers and television, if you don’t use it”, so, in addition to space, you can get more serenity and less chances of getting stressed.

“ There is no bad Feng Shui, there will always be a solution, no matter what ", adds.
