“ Ai think it was the perfect story of my passage through Barça. If I had to dream of what my career at Barça would be like, I would probably never say it would be like this,” he said at a press conference after the ceremony in London on Monday.
Putellas describes the 14 years at the Catalan club as “something special, something magical”.
Putellas, 32 years old, was in the season 2025/26 in FC Barcelona, having won championship, cup and super Cup in Spain, besides the Champions League. At the service of the Spanish team, the football player, who now joins the English team of London City, won the League of Nations.
About the fact that so many Spanish players and coaches are recognized, the Spanish international said that the country is living “an incredible moment”.
“ It doesn’t matter whether it’s female or male football, or whether it’s junior or senior teams; we’re living something special,” he admitted.
In a message to the younger girls, she encouraged them to believe that “if what really falls in love with them is playing football, let them do it.”.
Alexia Putellas won the award for the third time, after 2021 and 2021/22, succeeding her countryman Aitana Bonmatí, who had won the three previous editions.
