O bayern Munich's sports director, Max Eberl, attended the press conference this Saturday morning to meet the Bundesliga's seventh day in front of Friburgo to report on the health status of Vincent Kompany, who, on the eve, fainted while attending the training of the sub-23 team and had to be hospitalized.
“ The good news is he's stable. I talked to him last night, and his wife too. It wasn't a nice time for all of us. He passed out in the field yesterday, and he's gonna spend a few more days in the hospital until everything is watched. This shows, once again, how health is the most important thing in life, not football ", began by affirming.
“We all send you the best wishes. We, while Bayern Munich, remain united. The most important thing is that the cause be established and that it be well again. He will only come back when he is well (...). They've been investigating the cause all along. He had already had slight problems last week”, continued the leader of the German champions in title.
“ The doctors aren't doing anything else unless they try to figure out what's going on. The tests have already presented some results, but more results will be needed to determine exactly what is going on and how long it will take him to recover. I am not a doctor, but we can support him with energy and love ", completed, before journalists.
“The boys got a little overwhelmed”
Max Eberl also took advantage of the situation to explain exactly the episode: “It happened when the sub-23 team was training, so they lived that firsthand. For 17 and 18-year-olds, it's anything. Many of them have never had to deal with anything negative before. Some things just happen. The boys were a little overwhelmed, and that’s human.”.
“There are more important things than football. As for Fribourg, we didn't think to postpone the game. We had the situation with Jamal [Musiala], the tragedy involving Jo's father [Joshua Kimmich] and now Vinnie. These things weigh us, like human beings. The most important thing is that we are healthy. Everyone looks out for each other, that’s what Bayern Munich defines,” he stressed.
“ We're here for each other and anyone else who's affected by this. That's Bayern Munich. They are not just empty words, but it is really what distinguishes us, the fact that we go through this together and that we are there for each other really strengthens the family, which is the most important thing”, he concluded.
“Vincent Kompany will have all the time”
Now, without Vincent Kompany, Max Eberl said, it will be up to his deputy, Aaron Danks, to guide the team, in the duel scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ( Continental Portugal time), in Europa-Park Stadion: “Vinnie will have all the time. Let's not start setting any deadlines. We need to understand what the problem is, and then it is a question of what the necessary recovery time will be.”.
“ We spoke briefly last night, and I made it clear that we weren't just talking about football, but to make sure he was okay. Football operations are in our hands now. Let’s try to help the team move on,” added 41-year-old English technician himself.
