Oboston Celtics entered, early on Friday to Saturday, in the best possible way in the group stage of the NBA's new 2026/27 sports season Cup, by taking the best over the Chicago Bulls at the TD Garden, an enclosure located in the U.S. state of Massachusetts, by 125-111.
Payton Pritchard began the match by sitting on the bench of alternates, from which he left to sign an ‘intractable’ exhibition, which translated into 30 points, three points and other assists after the 35 minutes he stepped on the court, having proved fundamental to the one that was the fourth victory after the five games played, since the beginning of the season, in all races.
The inevitable Jayson Tatum was also on ‘yes’ day, reached a record of 26 points, seven points and seven assists, having relied on the precious help of Paul George, whose 18 points, eight assists and six points left the men of the Brazilian Tiago Splitter without great conditions to react.
On the other side of the ‘barricade’, the most unconformed man was Caleb Wilson, whose 23 points, five caveats and four assists were insufficient to put a stop to a ‘black’ cycle of four consecutive defeats, which cause the pressure to rise significantly in tone in Illinois.
The Boston Celtics thus join the Washington Wizards in the leadership of Group C of the West NBA Conference. Right behind are Chicago Bulls, Charlotte Hornets and Atlanta Hawks (the latter have not yet entered the scene), with the count still at ‘zeros’ and forced to ‘run the pedal’.
Nehemiasis Queta back in sight
Like Payton Pritchard, also Nehemiah Queta was an alternate used and signed a good exhibition (though not as showy as the teammate), with 13 points and six points that helped the Boston Celtics resist the final pressure that the Chicago Bulls were targeted.
Questioned about the evolution he has noted at the level of the dribble, he himself said: “I think these things will happen naturally, the more we play. I am definitely satisfied, but I can clearly improve on that. There are things we have to work on, and I get as much confidence from my teammates as possible.”.
The Portuguese international also took advantage of the occasion to offer a torn compliment to Payton Pritchard: “It’s a big part of what we’re trying to do, and when it starts to carburize... In those triple releases, it is a very difficult type to stop, so we have to trust him to succeed.”.
What's next for the Boston Celtics?
After the winning NBA entry Cup, the Boston Celtics are now recentrating all the attention at the regular time of the U.S. basketball championship, which will place them, face to face, with the Orlando Magic, as early as 8:30 p.m. Sunday, this time, at the Kia Center in Florida.
The Nehemiah team Queta and company, remember, occupies the third place of the Conference This one, with four triumphs after five journeys. The opponent does not go through such a positive moment at all, so that he is 11th ranked, having won only two of the five games played so far.
