António Sala does not forget Olga Cardoso, who died in December last year. This Tuesday, July 7th, the host would be 92 years old. This is the first anniversary after his death and António Sala did not leave the date blank.
By publishing on his Instagram page a photograph of Olga Cardoso, António Sala began by writing: “July 7 will always be the birthday of our dear Olga Cardoso. Therefore, and because you always live in my heart and in the heart of millions of Portuguese, here I am celebrating this unforgettable date.”
“You know, friend, I can imagine your happy smile blowing the candles of an imaginary cake, and giving your laugh so genuine and unique. I can also imagine hearing your beautiful voice say, while your eyes were shining: “This one already sings here. One more birthday. Let's drink to that." This is what I will do today in your memory”, he lovingly recalled immediately afterwards.
“Congratulations, dear and unforgettable Olga. I miss you. António”, concluded.
The “eternal friend Olga” died, the indispensable name of the communication
To remember that Olga Cardoso died on 2 December 2025. The television host and radio host, who was 91 years old at the time, lost her life during the early hours following a stroke.
The news was publicly advanced by António Sala, who at the time left a message on social networks.
“ My heart's broken. Olga is no longer physically with us. He left this morning. Dear Olga, thank you for everything”, he started by writing in that publication when he spoke to his friend, with whom over 18 years he made the radio program “Awake”.
Olga Cardoso, to remember, was known as the eternal “Amiga Olga” for having succeeded with a TVI program with the same name, between 1993 and 1994. It was a very successful contest that marked his television debut when he was 59.
Born July 7, 1934, in Porto, at the age of 15, she debuted on the radio when she was invited to give voice to radio, and thus began a long career behind the microphone.
He presented the program “Awake”.
