Orecent months have been marked by successive increases in consumer electronics prices, with the tendency to occur not only on mobile phones but also on video game consoles.
With a greater demand for RAM memory from Artificial Intelligence companies, there has been an authentic shortage of these components which apparently also threatens the availability of certain products. One of them, according to Bloomberg's journalist Mark Gurman, is MacBook Air.
Gurman says Apple has been struggling to secure MacBook Air’s “stock” and in fact just try to purchase one of these laptops through Apple’s official website to verify that the situation is not easy.
When trying to buy MacBook Air, it's easy to realize that Apple is only able to meet the order at the end of August – even though we are at the beginning of the month. Depending on the configuration chosen, the buyer of a MacBook Air may be obliged to wait until September.
According to Gurman, Apple is trying to counter the tendency to order RAM to Chinese suppliers, but still the situation is not easily guessed – especially at a time when many students are equating computer acquisitions to return to class, a time when Apple computers like MacBook Air are especially popular.
As far as Apple's portable computer catalog is concerned, these availability issues seem to only be affecting MacBook Air. Trying to acquire a MacBook Pro and the latest MacBook Neo, estimates from Apple's official website indicate that products are shipped in the first half of August.
