Dealema continues to celebrate 30 years of career with concert in Lisbon

“ On December 19, we went up to the Capitol stage to celebrate with you 30 years of career and perform live our new album, and not only”, reads a publication shared in the group’s official accounts and its five elements – Expeão, Fuse, Maze, Mundo Segundo and DJ Guze – on social networks.

The celebration in Lisbon will be “a unique night, full of special moments, guests and some surprises”.

Tickets, which are already for sale, cost 20 euros, until 30 September, then cost 25 euros.

The Dealema began their 30-year career celebrations with a concert at the Porto Colosseum in February, which was sold out.

Thirty years after they began, the Dealema presented themselves at an older age, almost in the 50 years of life, but “with the same cock, the same desire to create and the same enthusiasm” they had in the late 1990s, guaranteed Maze in an interview with Lusa in February.

The 30 years of career begin to be counted from “Expresso do Underworld”, the first EP they recorded, on tape, and distributed hand in hand, in Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, cities from where they originated.

So teenagers, joined them the passion for a culture – Hip-Hop – that took the first steps in Portugal, remembered Fuse, Maze and World Second, on the same occasion.

At the time, the main references they had came from the United States, especially from New York, so they still tried singing in English while Freestyle Assassins. The rhymes of the Dealema were always in Portuguese.

Delema's first album, homonymous, was released in 2003 in NorthSouth, a label by Valentim de Carvalho. Other than that, all the others were independently edited, something they never regretted.

The second album, “V Imperia” was released in 2008. In 2011, “The Great Tribulation” arrived in 2013 “Salved of the Soul” and, 13 years later, “96 to the Infinite”, album that traces the history of the Dealema.

In the ten themes that make up the disc, some return to a period in which they made “more orchestral themes, focusing on rhyme and technique, a heavier sound and more ‘underground’”.

“There we are going back there. And then we have themes a little more introspective and emotional, and talking about more current topics. And we're focusing and really touching the present, what people are living in. At the same time we are experiencing new things and reinventing ourselves in a sound way, in the way we build our rhymes too, pointing to the future, and making it clear that we still have a long way to go. The name of the disc itself indicates it ", said Maze.

“96 to Infinto” – which refers to the Souls of Mischief album, “93 ‘Til Infinity”, edited in 1993, in the “golden time of hip-hop” – represents everything the Dealema have ever created, will continue to create, but also the legacy they leave, he explained.

Mundo Segundo says that in the album is “the backbone of the Dealema”, with “anything fresh”. “What’s hard is reinventing yourself and sound cool without losing your identity,” he said. And the Dealema believe they can still do it.

Although they have been unedited for the past 13 years, they have always remained active, continuing to take the stage frequently.

In addition, over the years, the various elements have edited albums, EPs and ‘mixtapes’ solo or in collaboration or other artists.

Over the past two years, the five have felt “the enthusiasm” of making a new album together. “We let it be natural, as we always do. We never followed industry timings,” Maze said.

In 2026, they continue to feel “relevant”. “We came to close an absence of this type of rap, this type of message, that was necessary to bring,” Mundo Segundo said.
