ANDm reported, the company stated that it intends to “expand all departments”, adding that many teams should double in size.
The initiative marks a new phase for DeepSeek, which seeks to evolve from a research-focused laboratory to an AI product company while preparing its first round of external funding.
Open vacancies include product managers, operations experts, infrastructure engineers and data managers, including profiles with experience in areas such as law, medicine and linguistics, signaling a bet on developing specific applications for different sectors.
The company is also strengthening the teams responsible for the infrastructure needed for the training and operation of large language models, recruiting experts in computer centers for AI, distributed storage, networks and training platforms.
Founded by Liang Wenfeng, DeepSeek gained international projection last year with the launch of the open source R1 reasoning model, whose performance was compared to the most advanced systems in the United States, although it was developed with less use of computational resources.
In recent months, however, competition has intensified in China, with companies such as Zhipu AI and Moonshot AI launching new open source models quickly adopted by programmers.
The DeepSeek model has, however, lost users to Doubao, byteDance, following complaints related to slow responses, service interruptions and factual errors in the responses generated by artificial intelligence.
The company also aims to strengthen infrastructure development in partnership with Huawei, adapting its models to Ascend processors, in a strategy aligned with Beijing's goal to reduce the dependence on technology of North American Nvidia.
This year, DeepSeek launched a version of its optimized V4 model for Ascend processors, although the adaptation of the most advanced models to chips developed in China remains a technical challenge.
The recruitment campaign takes place at a time when the company prepares the entry of external investors, in a process that also seeks to respond to the intense competition by specialized engineers, after several DeepSeek workers have been recruited by rivals such as Xiaomi and ByteDance.
