Ldo you feel a headache after you wake up? The night may have been good, you may have rested, but the truth is, you may have this discomfort. It could be a sign of some kind of problem, and it's worth noticing. A doctor reveals the possible reasons for this early in the morning.
Doctor Pooja Pillai revealed to the website Only My Health the reasons why she gets headaches as soon as she wakes up.
“A headache that occurs in the morning is usually not a serious problem, but if it occurs regularly, it may indicate an underlying sleep disorder, dehydration, jaw tension or other problems” he begins by saying.
Headache in the morning? Possible Causes
One of the reasons may be related to sleep apnea. “One of the most common and least recognized causes is sleep apnea. This is due to the fact that repeated breath interruptions during the night result in a brief reduction in oxygen levels and an increase in carbon dioxide, which may be responsible for a headache that may be present when waking up and disappears after a few hours,” says the expert.

The bruxism, which occurs during the night, ends up leading to this morning headache. “Ringing your teeth or tightening your jaw during sleep can cause tension headaches, more noticeable as soon as you wake up, often accompanied by jaw pain. Bruxism refers to repeated gnashing of the teeth or muscle activity of the jaw.”
On the other hand dehydration may also be related to morning headache. “Dehydration can cause headaches that worsen when waking up and improve during the day. This is especially true if the person consumed alcohol in the hours prior to sleep”, continues the doctor.
Sleep a lot, sleep a little and some medicine
Pay attention to sleep little or even too much. That's one of the reasons he gets headaches the second he wakes up. “Sleep little or sleep too much can trigger headaches, since both disturb the normal architecture of the body’s sleep. Migraine itself tends to occur in the early morning hours and is related to natural changes in hormone levels and biological clocks during sleep.”
And in case you use painkillersHere's another reason to consider. “Some medicines that lose the effect at night may cause headaches the next morning, which is common when taking painkillers regularly for other types of headaches. In the case of some people, frequent use of headache medicines can cause headache by excessive use of medicines.”
