André Villas-Boas, president of FC Porto, made use of his usual column of opinion and in the latest edition of Dragões Magazine, launched this Tuesday, launched a strong attack on rivals Sporting and Benfica.
Looking first at the lions, André Villas-Boas commented on the chatter between Luís Montenegro and Frederico Varandas, about the Prime Minister having ‘called’ Sporting to Parliament. In this regard, the leader of the blues and whites attacked the Lion President by means of his “chouda” payroll.
“ In the same emphasis, Frederico Varandas, who returned to his usual selective memories, in which Sporting and its President inhabit the Olympus of ethics and values, always impolute and untouchable, passing a rubber on the endless cases that involved his Club in the past. A ride from a joke by the Prime Minister, he stuck his shoe and found a new front, willing to mobilize the hosts of his club's association to influence the course of national politics. The president who promised not to speak of arbitration then, in its version 2026/27, began to influence politics. Its members shall assess whether this new version of its chairman justifies the cumbersome remuneration they pay. We note the return of public morality lessons that even the Prime Minister arrives. Let us confess that we already missed”, wrote the president of blues and whites.
Moving to Benfica, Villas-Boas returned to the Classic with the incarnates to target the complaints of the eagles to arbitrations even speaks of a "Brown Manto".
“ It is precisely this internal demand that seems to lead to despair the commentators affected the “Brown Manto”. In the classic with Benfica, Samu's contact behind Bah's back was promoted to 'barbaric aggression', entitled to dramatic reconstruction worthy of cinema. Interestingly, at the time, when a touch of one finger was enough to unbalance Hjulland and sustain a decision in favor of Sporting, the sensitivity of the same vigilantes was very different. The strength of contacts is measured by the shirt and indignation, by the result. An absolute anecdote, built by those who cannot accept the victory of FC Porto without seeking an explanation that diminishes it, whatever image or angle. When football spoils their script, there is always a studio available to rewrite it ", continued the president of FC Porto.
“It is also encouraging to watch Benfica’s sudden passion for bidding, images, angles and analyses, after more than a decade of broadcasting his games on BTV. So much demand for transparency deserved to start at home: that the annoying bidding have the same attention, the same angles and the same enthusiasm in the repetitions as those serving the narrative. Or is freedom of achievement a right acquired in the Light and a conspiracy when FC Porto wins? We are also loving the evolution of this guerrilla communication: between the reformist Unum Group and what we might call APEC, the Association of Prepants or Former Candidates, the most hilarious theses about our Club are multiplying. They disagree about who should run Benfica, but find a moving unit when it comes to explaining the successes of FC Porto for everything but its merit. If the images do not confirm the suspicion, other angles are required; if the other angles do not help, the realization is questioned. The conclusion is chosen; all that remains to be found is an image that obeys you. We use the eggs Morning to bring us back to reality, because so much theory is only possible for an omelet ", he added.
Luciano Gonçalves, president of the FPF Arbitration Council, also did not escape the Villas-Boas sieve, which insisted on the “temporary suspension of functions” of the leader.
“ Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Arbitration Council was on television defending his good name. A club benefited from a wrong decision by the arbitration team and the maximum head of the sector was divided between the exercise of the position and its personal defense on an open channel. But what is this normalcy? The right to defend the good name is unquestionable; what we have long contested is that it does so by maintaining the full exercise of its functions. FC Porto has requested, and requests, a temporary suspension of functions of the President of the Arbitration Council: the FPF Institution and the credibility of the competitions deserve it. But this measure has not been taken and the climate of instability remains. The permanence in this framework is unsustainable and the passivity of the President of the Portuguese Football Federation and the President of the Club League further exacerbates the discredit. Portuguese football needs strong leaders and confidence, not to see every field polemic accompanied by an institutional crisis that no one seems willing to solve”, shot Villas-Boas.
