ANDafter 12 Polymarket accounts, the North American cryptocurrency market that is based on the forecast of events, have hit the composition of the top 5 of the most voted players for the prize of the best player in the world, in the front of the gala held last Monday at the London Palladium.
According to early information, this Saturday by the British newspaper The Guardian, the accounts in question will have invested more than 264,000 dollars (235,593.6 euros) in Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappé, Lamine Yamal, Rodri Hernández and Lionel Messi would have been in the top seats of the journalists’ vote, generating revenues higher than $200,000 (178.480 euros).
The prestigious France Football magazine, which organises this trophy together with UEFA, has been brought to the attention of this potential scandal by an investigation conducted by the Gaul portal Upside, and ordered an investigation on it, to try to understand exactly what happened, in constant contact with the police.
The bets in question will have been made between October 1 and 20 and have similar activity patterns, which led the inspectors to suspect that they may be linked to a single subject or group. Seven of these 12 accounts had never made any bets, while six bets on the Golden Ball just 15 minutes after they were created.
One of the accounts even bought a contract that provided that Harry Kane would be elected the best player in the world, for 37 cents, which would eventually sell, shortly thereafter, when the value of it amounted to 67 cents. The money fitted was then channeled to bets on specific seats of the players who were behind.
France Football insists that, before each ceremony, only “a handful” of people know who will be the winner, which makes it even more serious that the composition of this list has fallen into the wrong hands.
Who did you vote for?
Portugal was represented in this suffrage by António Tadeia, RTP sports commentator, who put Lamine Yamal first, Kylian Mbappé second, Erling Haaland third, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia fourth and Pau Cubarsí fifth. Harry Kane, who was to win the Golden Ball, was only his sixth choice.
Shortly behind, he elected Lionel Messi, in seventh position, Nuno Mendes, in eighth, Lautaro Martínez, in ninth, and closing the top10, Rodri Hernández. This is in a vote that brings together journalists from all over the world each year, and the highest rank is worth 15 points, and the remaining 12, 10, 8, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 respectively.
After the accounts, there were 40 countries that put Harry Kane first, more specifically South Africa, England, Angola, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Scotland, Republic of Ireland, Haiti, Hungary, Iran, Northern Ireland, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Kosovo, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Norway, New Zealand, Oman, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Poland, Russia, El Salvador, Senegal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Uruguay and Venezuela.
