Excavations in Mértola reveal necropolis of the 2nd and 1st centuries BC.

A new area of a necropolis of the 2nd and 1st centuries BC was discovered in Mértola, thanks to excavations during the construction of the “green belt” of the village. The discovery includes 46 cremation graves and suggests the presence of an even older sector.
