His most affected by Apple's executive structure, with journalist Mark Gurman from Bloomberg realizing that one of the responsible for the division dedicated to Vision Pro will have decided to abandon Cupertino technology and will have joined OpenAI.
Gurman says that Paul Meade, who was the vice president of the Vision Pro division, has now joined the OpenAI hardware team.
Apparently, Meade will have led the development of the smart glasses Apple intends to launch next year to compete with the Meta Ray-Ban.
Meade's departure is allegedly related to John Ternus' imminent arrival as Apple CEO. Apparently, Ternus has made the decision to reshape Apple's hardware division, which will have contributed to Meade's exit to OpenAI.
It is important to remember that, despite being known above all by ChatGPT, OpenAI is also preparing a series of hardware products that will take advantage of its Artificial Intelligence models.
We will still have to wait a little longer to see how OpenAI intends to compete in the hardware segment, but some believe that the company may become an Apple rival.
