O FC Porto received the Sporting in the Classic of the national handball championship, with the eleventh day of the race, played at the Dragon Arena, proving decisive for the leadership accounts, since both teams left for this meeting with the same 27 points added in nine games played, with the two rivals not yet losing this season.
The final result ended up smiling at the blue and white set, with a score of 34-32, with a minimum margin of two goals to be achieved at the last minute of the match, with a perfect display of Ricardo Brandão, who did not miss a single shot, having an effectiveness of 100%, with 10 goals scored in 10 attempts.
FC Porto was the one who started in front of the meeting, although Sporting achieved a turnaround in the first minutes of the game, but early the dragons managed to reach the front of the result, reaching a margin of four goals for the lions, but not to let the advantage escape until the break, where the two teams went with a 16-14 for the locker rooms.
The truth is that Sporting left for the second half with the soul of three national champion in title, succeeding in reducing the margin and even stalling, on several occasions, the meeting, but an exclusion less than four minutes from the end of the match ended up being devastating for the intentions of Ricardo Costa's group.
This is because, from then on, FC Porto took the ‘knife and cheese in hand’ and always had a margin of two goals and the clock running in its favor until the end. This victory did not happen without the blue and white players being highlighted, with Ricardo Brandão being the biggest highlight of this Sunday afternoon, since he did not miss a single shot, having an efficiency of 100%, with 10 goals scored in 10 attempts.
Still, it was not the only one, since Vasco Costa and Antonio Llamazares also scored eight and six goals over the 60 minutes of this scalding Classic, respectively.
On the Lion side, there was a solid display by Natan Diaz and Francisco Costa, but the seven goals scored by each of these players were not enough to stop a sports team that was very united and supportive in the defensive maneuver, to take away the invincibility of Sporting in this edition of the national championship of the sport.
With this result, FC Porto ends up adding the tenth consecutive win in 10 games played, now having a total of 30 points, against the 28 of Sporting and the 27 of Benfica, which has another game that rivals to the title.
