Helena Sacadura Cabral decided to use her social networks to share a reflection on the theme aesthetic surgeries.

The writer, currently 91 years old, wrote on the subject and explained the reasons why she never performed aesthetic procedures to the face in order to mitigate the passage of the years.

“ Plastics (which I do not do)”, is the title of the text, which begins with Helena Sacadura Cabral saying that there is nothing “against plastic surgery”.

“ Each is free to do what he understands with his body. There are those who invest in travel, who prefer housework and who choose to remodel the facade. They're choices! I, for now, have decided not to enter this race against time. Because, let's face it, time usually wins. And there's no scalpel that can convince him otherwise!

I do not want to erase the wrinkles, stretch what gravity, with its usual persistence, decided to bring down, nor to exchange my expression for that universal face, slightly still, of who seems to be always waiting for a photograph ", began to mention.

“ My wrinkles have résumés. You've seen a lot of laughs, a few tears, a few outrages and certainly too many surprises. It's not exactly decoration, it's accumulated experience!

I don't want to be 30 forever either. It would be a waste: I am past this stage and, fortunately, I learned some things along the way. I admire who feels better after an aesthetic intervention. But it does not entice me to enter a clinic with an old photograph and leave there with an updated version, although with some expressive features disabled.”

The mother of Miguel and Paulo Portas, remember, completes December 7 of this year 92 years of life and ensures she prefers not to make aesthetic changes and continue to recognize herself in the mirror “even if he is sometimes little diplomatic”.

“I don’t want to look younger. I want to look like me. With wrinkles, expression, sense of humor and some irreverence. After all, aging is inevitable. Being without personality for fear of looking old is what seems to me a truly expendable surgery ", ended.
