Gil Vicente-FC Porto: Detonate the “bomb” not to give cock

Gil Vicente-FC Porto: Detonate

FC Porto visits, this Saturday, a growing Gil Vicente, for the ninth day of the I Liga, committed to erasing the weak image given in the last two games, against Real Betis and PSV, for the Champions League.

YEAH a weakened Porto FC that, at the beginning of Saturday night, will present itself at Barcelos City Stadium, to measure forces with Gil Vicente, following two potentially compromising defeats, in the league phase of the Champions League, before Real Betis and PSV, by 3-2 and 0-1, respectively.

The image that the dragons left in what is the biggest competition of European football clubs was not at all the best, so they will now refocus all attention on the I League, where the scenario has been inversely proportional, as it follows in the lead, with 24 points won in 24 possible.

The goal is, of course, to 'animate the troops', but the task does not seem as simple as that, since, in the front, Francesco Farioli's men will have an opponent who is growing, coming from three consecutive victories, the last of which against Sporting Braga, in the middle of Pedreira, by 1-2, which precipitated the resignation of Carlos Vicens.

The team led by Luís Pinto currently lives in the 14th position of the table, with the same 14 points of Academica de Viseu (the last team of the ‘European zone’, who will visit Sporting) and Arouca (who has a meeting with Alverca), and knows that, scoring, can ‘scale’ even more.

Gil Vicente-FC Porto has an initial whistle scheduled for 8.30 p.m. (Hour of Continental Portugal), and will be judged by Luís Godinho, from the Évora Football Association, which will have as assistants Pedro Martins and Gonçalo Freire, as fourth referee Daniel Pinto, as VAR Pedro Ferreira and as AVAR Leonel Ferreira.

Coaches in direct speech

Luís Pinto

Good timing: “ When you win often, you always increase responsibility, because you start looking at it differently. We must have this ability to want responsibility, to continue to work ambitiously and humbly, always with the courage to say that we want more”.

FC Port of wounded pride: “ It has the same matrix. The search for a game always of a very high level of intensity, always connected to the current. The paths are not the same, they have some nuances that have been added to their game, but have other paths that remain”.

Meeting Farioli: “Our first game was against them and we had to look for things they were doing in Ajax to realize what that FC Porto could be. Then, when we played against them in November and January, there was already greater knowledge.”.

Francesco Farioli

Contestation after the Champions League: “There is a desire to take advantage of every opportunity to place a bomb in the vicinity, to kill people or at least see some blood. It's a historic desire to share, to be easier to conquer, but I think the strength of this group and this club has always been in the concept of family. We have talked several times about ‘Famiglia Portista’, and it is a moment of union, not only because it is necessary, but also because nothing should distance us from it”.

Gil Vicente's Valencias: “ It has different variations and solutions. It's a very well-oriented team, which is at a very good time. We know very well how demanding it is to play there. It was like this, last season, and it will be like this, with the new coach”.

FC Porto suffering more than usual: “ The fact that, in the last period, there is an accumulation of goals in a row is something that, of course, needs to worry us and increase our attention. Then we always need to think a little bit about how we suffered certain goals, the things we could have done better collectively, the things we have to do better individually and the credit of the opponents, who can find, individually, the way to score goals. Everything must be analyzed, but it is not something that makes us think too much”.
