Odukes of Sussex settled in the Montecito region of California a few years ago. After leaving the United Kingdom in 2020, they headed for Canada but did not stay there long.
The couple and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, live in a mansion with nine bedrooms, pool, wine cellar and a vast property. However, not everything is pink and soon the four of them may have to leave the area.
According to Hola! magazine, this region is affected by extreme weather conditions, including large landslides that have already forced several people to evacuate.
According to some experts, with the end of summer and the beginning of rain, new floods may occur. The great concern is in the San Ysidro stream, which is located in the vicinity of the condominium where the dukes reside.
Apparently, a Montecito newspaper reports that the government has plans to come up with a long-term solution but still the inhabitants are concerned about the coming seasons.
Ellen DeGeneres, who once lived in the region, was forced to evacuate her home due to floods and problems in the region.
Terry Cunningham was responsible for building the house, known as Riven Rock Castle and has already admitted that he has not taken into account the weather conditions of the site.
Despite this problem, TMZ argues that the purchase of the property was profitable for the couple. Meghan and Harry bought the house for about EUR 12.5 million but today it is worth more than EUR 25 million.
