O brazilian judge Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Court (STF), prohibited Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) from leaving the country and the senator was forced to deliver the passport to the Federal Police today.
Moraes’ decision is in the process in which Flávio and his friend, attorney Willer Tomaz, are investigated in the Supreme Court for money laundering, in an alleged scheme that would involve Tomaz companies and a betting platform (‘bets’).
The candidate of the defeated PL last Sunday in the presidential elections used social networks to say that it was approached by federal police today when he went to visit the father Jair Bolsonaro, in house arrest in Brasilia.
«This morning, I went to visit my father. When I was leaving, Lula's Federal Police was at the door of his house and, in the middle of the street, I was summoned to deliver my passports and I am also forbidden to leave the country", he described.
“The decision of Alexandre de Moraes was based on a statement by Eduardo [Bolsonaro] of 23/10 that I should leave the country if I lost the election, I never said that”, he completed.
“Is that a reason to take my passport? Is that justice? That decision was made on Sunday night, right after the election result. If I had won the elections, would the same thing happen?", questioned.
Moraes' decision also includes the cancellation of Flavio's diplomatic passport as a senator, and the prohibition of contact between Senator and Willer Tomaz.
