Agata's eldest son was convicted of rape

The singer is still the mother of an older son and the fruit of another relationship, Marco Caneira. The music producer and entrepreneur was news in recent years for the worst reasons.

Marco Caneira was convicted in 2018 by the Tribunal de Ponta Delgada, in the Azores, for the violation of a child under 14 years old. The alleged crime occurred in 2016, with Ágata's eldest son arrested in September 2024 in the Algarve, to serve an effective sentence of six and a half years in prison.

In October 2024, Agata spoke publicly about the arrest of his son. The artist explained that Marco will have mental health problems and that he was imprisoned without having been able to defend himself.

“ My son wasn't in good mental health, so he sent his lawyer a medical report at the time attesting to his inability to make statements and follow the trial. He never gave his consent for the trial to take place in his absence, for he could not have done so because he was incapable. Still, the trial took place in his absence and, after the sentence was handed down, it was not personally notified to him”, he said in statements quoted in the V+ Fame program of V+ TVI.

“My son was not well of mental health. He is stuck without defending himself”

Singer Ágata issued a statement to the program ‘V+ Fame’ and revealed that his son, Marco Caneira, had no opportunity to defend for the crime he is accused of.
