Not all pilots of Formula 1 have driving licence so they can drive on public roads when they reach the queen category. Arvid Lindblad is one of those cases.
The promising 19-year-old British – who lives in Portugal – you still do not have the required legal license. But it is closer to getting it: last Monday (14 September) was approved in the theoretical conduction examination, which he conducted in the UK – as he documented on his social networks.

But it doesn't look like an easy exam: has passed to the part of the multiple choices with 46 points (only three more than the minimum limit, being the maximum 50), while in the part of the perception of dangers has added 52 points (44 are required to be approved and the maximum is 75).
And this last score generated comments on social networks. At Reddit, there were people who missed such a low grade: “Only 52 out of 75 in the perception of dangers, perhaps with F1 pilot reflexes he does not think that some things are dangerous because he can keep the car under control.”.
But there are those who have a possible justification for such performance, with several users suggesting that Arvid Lindblad may have clicked too fast and not seen answers considered: “You can miss scenarios by perceiving or reacting too quickly,” a comment reads.
We have been trying to understand and, in fact, there is more than one UK driving school to report that reacting too soon in the scenarios of the perception of danger test can harm the rating.
Now, Arvid Lindblad will still have to complete the practical examination to be able to drive on public roads – something you will have to do in the next two years so you do not have to go back to the theoretical part.
Convincing opening season
Arvid Lindblad's promotion to Formula 1 at the age of 18 was surprising, after only four complete seasons in single places without significant titles – the only one in the Oceania Regional Formula in 2025, having also won the Macau Formula 4 GP in 2023.
The British debut was in the service of Racing Bulls, Red Bull's secondary team, at the age of 18 (made 19 August). And has been performing a consistent season, having failed points only once in the last nine races and four times in the races it started (a technical problem prevented it from starting for the race of the GP of Canada).
Currently, Arvid Lindblad occupies the 11th position of the championship with 31 points, less 18 than his colleague Liam Lawson (who makes his second season complete). It is just ten points behind the experienced Pierre Gasly (Alpine/Mercedes) and the top ten of the World Cup.
