Othe profits of the main chinese industrial companies increased 15.5% in the first nine months of 2026, a rate 0.2 percentage points lower than that recorded between january and august, according to official data released today.
The figures published by China’s National Bureau of Statistics (GNE) show that the profits of these companies amounted to some 6.03 billion yuan (EUR 809.728 million) in the first three quarters of the year.
The result exceeded analysts' predictions: the specialized Trading Economics portal anticipated an accumulated growth of 15.2% between January and September.
For the preparation of this statistics, the GNE considers only industrial companies with an annual turnover of more than 20 million yuan (EUR 2.6 million).
In September, the profits of these companies increased by 14.4%, in homologous terms, a much higher rate than 4.2% in August, when an unexpected slowdown occurred.
The manager of GNE Yu Weining highlighted the contribution of the electronics sector, whose profits doubled until September, driven by industrial modernization and the expansion of artificial intelligence (IA).
The latter factor also explains the growth of profits of fiber optic manufacturers, which multiplied the gains by 5.7 in the analyzed period, thanks to the increased demand associated with the construction of data centers and the expansion of computing capacity.
Despite the trend of slowing the growth of profits in recent months, the indicator moves to a second consecutive year of positive results, after interrupting, in 2025, three years followed by falls.
The profits of Chinese industrial companies increased by 0.6% last year, after 2% in 2022, 2.3% in 2023 and 3.3% in 2024.
