Unine-year-old girl intervened in an episode of domestic violence carried out by her father against her mother and contacted the authorities on Saturday in Bassano del Grappa, in the Italian province of Vicenza. The child's action led to the arrest of the 51-year-old father for mistreatment.
The smallest contacted 112 at 1:40 p.m. (local time), having reported that he had just fled home with his mother, to escape a violent assault on his father, reported Ansa.
The same means said that the victims were found shortly after by a police patrol, still on the public road, near a school. The mother, who was in shock and tears, had head and right arm injuries, so she was admitted to a hospital unit.
According to the girl, the assault took place during lunch for futile reasons. The man pushed the woman down, causing the victim to hit his head on the kitchen table. Then he stepped on his arm. He still tried to throw a chair at his wife, but the child stood between his parents. Although she was pulled and pushed, the minor suffered no injuries.
The man, of Moroccan nationality, was found drunk within the household and admitted the acts of violence.
In view of the criminal record of the man and the fact that the frame of abuse has been dragging on for years, the suspect was arrested by the authorities.
