ANDm july, a MG presented at the Goodwood Speed Festival the Go!, a concept car that anticipates your future 100 percent electric hatchback with expected arrival for 2027.
It is a model with which the SAIC group brand Motor aims to rival European cars like Renault 5 E-Tech or MINI Electric Cooper.
According to La Tribuna de Automoción, the assembly of the future MG will take place in the Iberian Peninsula – more specifically in Ferrol (Galiza) from 2028. An annual production capacity of 73,000 cars is planned, with the factory being built next year.
With the factory in Spain, MG will be able to circumvent the import tariffs for electric cars from that Asian country and will again produce in Europe more than a decade later. However, according to Autocar, initially Ferrol facilities will be dedicated to the assembly of kits shipped from China.
What to expect from MG Go?
Although there are still few details, the vehicle is expected to have about 149 hp of power and a battery of 43 kWh.
Concept car, which is not far from the production version, has the signature of the MG Design Centre in London, led by design director Carl Gotham. The goal was to have a product with a contemporary but also nostalgic design, with simple lines and elements that refer to the history of the British brand of origin.
According to the publication Autocar, cited by AutoNext, MG Go! is expected to reach the market in September 2027, so the production will initially take place in China.
