With the motto “When Ansião joins, the party takes place”, Ansião promises “a program for various tastes, with various musical tendencies”, said the mayor.
“It’s a diverse, eclectic and, at the same time, attractive program,” said Jorge Cancelinha, who guarantees not having been involved in the celebrations.
“ We have recently lived moments that have challenged us not to fulfill these kinds of programs. It was the choice of neighboring municipalities”, but Ansião kept the celebrations, despite the difficulties experienced by the damage caused by the depression Kristin.
For this reason, there was “some restraint in what was the hiring of artists of national or international reputation”.
But, he added, “it was never our option to do a miserabilist program, on the contrary”:
“ We wanted to make an attractive program, which was the concentrator and aggregator of the people of the county. If, then, we add to all this who wants to visit us [outside] these days, so much the better. The foundations are laid for a large festival of the county”.
Among the main novelties of this edition is the centrality given to Mata Municipal de Ansião, a green space that houses Praça das Freguesias, the Ansião a Jogar proposal and the more traditional programming.
The Festivals of the Council of Ansião also serve for the inauguration of a ‘disc golf’ field in Quinta das Lagoas, investment of about 30,000 euros integrated in the inter-conciliation project Sicó Outdoor Center, and for the opening of the renewed multipurpose room of the Cultural Center.
In the Exhibition of Activities there will be about 90 exhibitors while Campo da Mata receives the main concerts: Miguel Araújo on August 8 and Sara Correia on August 9. The program is completed with Sons do Minho on 06 and I Love Dance Funk on 07 August, in addition to the performance of the philharmonics and ranches of the municipality and the studentina Universitária de Coimbra.
