A Trackhouse announced, during Wednesday, the renewal of Raul Fernández contract until the end of the season of 2028 of MotoGP. The Spanish will follow the colors of the American team after months of speculation involving their future in the maximum category of motorcycle racing.

The Spanish pilot joined the project of Trackhouse MotoGP Team, a satellite team from Aprilia, since its inception, before the 2024 season, and has been consolidating as an important piece. In 2025 he won podiums at the Sprint races in Mandalika (Indonesia) and Phillip Island (Australia), before winning his first Grand Prix win – and also the first of the team – in Australia. The 2025 season ended with a second place at the Valencia Grand Prix.

In this season, the Spanish already add three podiums in Grand Prixes and three podiums in Sprint races, including two victories, achieved in Mugello (Italy) and Assen (Netherlands). Regarding the latter, the triumph in the Dutch circuit was part of a historic weekend for the American team, which won both Sprint and the Grand Prix.

“ We at Trackhouse are very excited to announce that Raul Fernández will remain on the team for the next two seasons. Since the beginning of this team's trajectory, Raul has been fully committed to our mission and our goals. It has evolved as a pilot, both on the motorcycle and in its preparation, approach and maturity. We believe that this team and these bikes are prepared to be a constant threat to the title in the coming years and that Raul can help us achieve great achievements in this sport,” said Justin Marks, owner of SuperFile Trackhouse.

Rumors of a possible exit gained momentum throughout the season due to the movement of the pilot market. However, the results obtained by Fernández made the team re-evaluate plans for the future, part of the extension of its contract from one year to two years.

The name of his future teammate has not yet been announced, so there is a great doubt for the coming months. Ai Ogura is currently the second pilot of Aprilia's satellite team, but will leave the U.S. formation to head to Yamaha's factory team Yamaha Factory Racing in 2027.

Lecuona does not close the door to MotoGP: “If an opportunity arises...”

In an interview with an Italian portal, pilot Iker Lecuona ensures he is not obsessed with the return to the category queen of motorcycle racing. Still, you don't hide that you have that same desire.
