Drinking sodas might seem harmless. However, if it is something recurrent, it may be taking some risks. The warning is left by a doctor who reveals what can happen when he takes this type of drink frequently.

Rare cold and sugary drinks part of your daily life? Look, regular consumption of this kind of drink can have consequences. There are several organs that end up being affected, as is the case with the liver. A doctor reveals what happens to this organ when he eats soft drinks regularly.
Neeraj Dhamija is a gastroenterologist at Sir Ganga Hospital Ram and revealed to the website Only My Health what may be at stake with your health when soft drinks are part of your daily life.
Refrigerators: What happens to the liver
“ Consuming a soda occasionally doesn't mean you'll develop fat liver. The concern lies in regular and prolonged consumption, especially when combined with a diet rich in added sugars and excess calories” says the expert.

This is why the body uses this sugar for energy. When it's too much, the liver may end up converting it into excess fat. Overuse may be the source of this accumulation.
Sodas turn out to be liquid sugar, which leads to a high calorie intake.
“ Over time, this can contribute to excessive calorie consumption and weight gain. Excess body fat, especially in the abdominal region, is closely linked to metabolic problems that can also affect the liver.”
Once again, he left the warning for the risk of having fat liver and for all the consequences it entails. “In the early stages, hepatic steatosis may cause few or no obvious symptoms. This means that the person may not realize that there are changes.”
Insulin resistance may also be affected by regular consumption of this type of beverage. The doctor does cite a study.
“ A study by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition indicates that frequent consumption of large amounts of added sugar may contribute to insulin resistance in some people. This means that body cells become less responsive to insulin, the hormone that helps transport blood glucose to cells.”
How to reduce the impact of these drinks on the liver
Despite the negative consequences for their health, there may be ways to reduce the impact of soft drinks consumption. The doctor suggests, for example, replacing this drink with water at some meals. You can add some flavor with lemon or mint to make it easier to eat.
On the other hand, it should make more occasional consumption of soft drinks. Daily activity can also be beneficial and contribute to liver health and metabolism.
