Na statement by Ryanair Transnational Pilot Group (RTPG), representing pilots from several European trade unions, indicated that these professionals “approved a motion of no confidence in the management of Ryanair”.

“The message of the Ryanair Transnational Pilot Group (RTPG) is clear: drivers no longer believe that the Company is negotiating its collective agreements of good faith work”, reads in the same note.

“ In the last few days, the management of Ryanair/Malta Air has released internal updates to its pilots based in Germany, presenting the union as the obstacle to progress,” he said, pointing out that “similar narratives were reported by pilot representatives in other jurisdictions during previous rounds of collective bargaining.”.

So he said, according to the company, “a generous proposal is on the table, which includes the replacement of the five-day scale of work for four rests, wage increases and subsidies improvements, the German trade union (VC) is delaying, pilots are losing wage increases and improvements in the scale of work, month after month, as a result and the closure of the Berlin base is proof of how unsustainable the German market has become.”.

According to the entity, what the company report does not reflect is “the actual course of negotiations”.

“ Throughout the process, the VC and the pilots’ representatives have repeatedly put forward proposals to find common points and reach a sustainable agreement, which, in the pilots’ view, were “often rejected without serious consideration or accompanied by counter-proposals, which did not address the underlying concerns raised during the negotiations”.

The representatives of the pilots also accuse Ryanair of “opening disciplinary proceedings against members of the VC negotiating team and other officials affiliated to the union during a critical phase of negotiations”.

“The RTPG therefore calls on the management of Ryanair/Malta Air to resume genuine and good faith negotiations,” he said in the statement, stressing that “a motion of non-confidence is not taken lightly” and that “reflects an increasing belief among pilots that pressure tactics do not produce lasting agreements; they produce even greater mistrust”.
