A Judicial Police (JP) seized more than half a ton of cocaine during a police operation to combat drug trafficking in the Port area. A man was arrested.
In a statement sent to the newsrooms this Friday, PJ reported that the seizure of 556 kilograms of cocaine took place in the framework of an investigation initiated in July 2025, which “allowed to identify a drug import structure, via containerized route, which was located in the North Zone, and dismantle the entire infrastructure of the organized crime group”.
“ Research is part of the ongoing effort that the Judiciary Police have been making, in cooperation with the authorities of other countries, to prevent the introduction of illicit drugs in national territory and also in the European area,” PJ explained.
The prisoner will be present the first judicial interrogation to apply the necessary coercion measures.
