ANDthis indicator is an average weekly value calculated by ERSE taking into account international rates of refined fuels and freight, logistics, reserves, biofuels, retail and taxes.

The regulator points out, however, that this price is a “referential calculated by ERSE on the basis of the main costs associated with the availability of fuel to the consumer”, adding that “it is not a regulated price, a maximum price or a recommended price, since the public sales prices are freely defined by each operator”.

Thus, for the week from 07 to 13 September, the efficient pre-tax price is EUR 1,139 per litre for plain petrol 95 and EUR 1,341 per litre for simple diesel, and “after the inclusion of the ISP, the rate of addition on CO2 and VAT” is EUR 2,115 per litre in simple petrol 95 and EUR 2,188 per litre in simple diesel.

In view of the previous week, the efficient price “increased 4.2% in petrol and 5.3% in diesel”, the ERSE indicated, pointing out that “this evolution results, above all, from the variation in international petrol and diesel prices, which are the most directly related references to the cost of fuels sold at the gas stations”.

In this period, he pointed out, the international quotations of single petrol 95 and simple diesel increased both by 12.0%.

According to the regulator, to understand the evolution of fuel prices, “the most relevant reference is not the quotation of the barrel of crude oil, but the international quotations of gasoline and diesel already refined”, pointing out maritime freights, logistics costs, the incorporation of biofuels, marketing and taxes.

Finally, he pointed out that the discounted price “constitutes a more accurate approach to the average price actually paid by consumers”, and they were below the efficient price at 1.0 cents per litre in plain gasoline 95 and 5.8 cents per litre in simple diesel, corresponding to deviations of -0.5% and-2.8%, respectively.

With regard to portico prices, the average sales prices to the public announced at the supply stations, as reported at the Single Energy Balcony, stood 2.8 cents per litre above the efficient price in gasoline 95 single and 0.1 cents per litre above in simple diesel, with deviations of +1.3% and +0.04%, respectively.
