President of the Republic wants to meet with Campada do Porto

Henrique Blanc, of the Porto Camp, today revealed to Lusa that, in the contact received today, he was informed that the President of the Republic is willing to meet with them to discuss the proposals of the movement and the latest events.

In statements to Lusa, in which he needed the announcement made shortly before the popular assembly taking place in Praça D. João I, in which he said he was contacted by the Civil House of the Presidency of the Republic for a meeting, the spokesman revealed to be António José Seguro who wants to meet with them.

“Of course it was a proposal received with great satisfaction from us, but it will still be discussed by all of us, in a democratic way, as everything has been so far,” he said.

Asked whether the Lisbon Camp was also contacted by the Civil House, Henrique Blanc said he did not know, admitting, however, that this could happen due to the “availability demonstrated by the President of the Republic”.

Still on the invitation, the spokesman stressed the reception received, stating that the “objective of them [Presidency of the Republic] is the same as that of the movement (...) it is not to create any kind of conflict or litigation, such as those that have happened lately, but to arrive at a good kind of concrete resolution for all Portuguese people”.
