O secretary-General of the CFP today stated that the Aquida is “all happy” with the abstention of the PS in the State Budget, accusing the socialists of doing a “fret” that allows the party of André Ventura “to continue the demagogy and the noise”.

At the end of a public hearing in Parliament, promoted by the CFP on the proposal for a State Budget for 2027 (OE2027), Paulo Raimundo criticized what he described as “calculism and political games” on the budget proposal.

“The PS says ‘this budget is not ours, it is a disaster for the country, but we will make it possible because of instability’. What instability? Life? It is the question that is asked [...]. What about Enough? He's all excited that the ER is going to make a budget possible, which is the budget of the Enough. But as the PS does the freight, they have all the space to continue the demagogy and the noise ", said.

The Communist leader considered that the country is experiencing a “carious situation” in which “there is a party that says that it is not in agreement, but that it will enable” the Budget and “there is another party that says it will not make it possible, but it is all in agreement” that will be made possible.

Raimundo also warned that whoever makes the Budget possible will have to take the consequences of this choice and recalled the vote against the CFP to the proposal of the State Budget for 2022, because the communists' demands regarding housing, the National Health Service, wages and collective procurement were not met.

“ We know exactly the beating we took. The beating, in quotes. But ready, when we do not agree, we do not vote in favour ", emphasized.

The Secretary-General of the CFP considered that the situation “is not easy” and that “very likely” there will be “find enough majorities in the Assembly for the budget to pass”.

“If he passes, we will have to take with him. But there is one thing that we must not forget, too, that the process does not end next week, it starts next week and will end at the end of November, and that [...] the immense force that defeated the labour package, that is also the immense force for whether or not the state budget will continue to increase the rejection of this policy,” he said.

In this intervention of about 15 minutes, Paulo Raimundo also maintained that the budget proposal reflects political options favorable to private interests and considered that “with the money that exists, another kind of options were possible”.

“ If you need to see who wins, ‘follow the money’. It's the same here. If we want to know to whom this budget proposal is used [...] the money is followed by the choices that are made. And it will be realized who it serves ", considered.
