Nthe “greatest ever edition of the festival”, the organization estimates that about 330,000 people have spent the room over four days – today, Saturday and June 20th and 21st – said the executive vice president of Rock in Rio, Roberta Medina, in a press conference in early afternoon.
On the 20th and 21st of June, who were sold out with Katy Perry and the Linkin Park as poster heads, respectively, were in the room 200,000 people, 100,000 each day.
Also according to Roberta Medina, in a festival mostly attended by Portuguese, there were also foreigners from 127 countries, with Spanish, French, Brazilian, German, British and Italian mostly.
However, the percentage of foreign audience, about eight percent, “is absolutely residual”.
Among the goals of the organization is to “attract more foreign public”, even because this means “fooding restaurants, transport and hospitality” of Lisbon.
In the second edition of the festival in the Tagus Park, after nine editions in the Parque da Bela Vista, Roberta Medina spoke in the outdoor enclosure in front of the Tagus River, near the Vasco da Gama bridge, in the eastern part of Lisbon, which in four days was ‘the city of rock’, as “a consolidated space” for the event.
She recalled that in this edition the public area increased 25 thousand square meters, passing the capacity of the enclosure to 100,000 people per day. In the 10th edition, in 2024, the capacity was 80,000 people.
In addition, it noted that the extension of space allowed, for example, 40% of bathroom spaces and 30% of restoration areas.
In 2028 – the festival takes place every two years – Rock in Rio Lisboa returns “with a certainly even better edition”. “This is our commitment,” he said.
The festival venue opened today at 1:00 p.m., for the last time this year, for a day dedicated to urban sounds, with the Stage World receiving Matuê, Rema, Central Cee and 21 Savage.
In the Music Valley will perform Irina Barros, Carlão, Filipe Ret and Dennis.
Through the Super Bock stage will pass the Karetus, Jack, Lola Indigo and Ceelo Green, and the Digital Stage will pass, among others, Elyas, King Bigs and The Boys of The Bands, a new project that brings together elements of three Portuguese ‘boy bands’: Kapinha (D’Arrasar), Melão (Excess) and Gato (Milenio).
In this issue of Rock in Rio Lisboa, there is a giant wheel and a slide. In addition, in the ‘rock city’ there is a Football Arena, where the World Cup games are shown.
