Pin the wake of the wave of talk because of the artists who canceled their presence at the Commedia a La Carte Fest because of the poster head, Jerry Seinfeld, Filipa Torrinha Nunes decided to manifest himself publicly.
The psychologist and commentator of the “Red Passeira”, SIC Caras, compared the theme to the case of TVI, which was in the spotlight because of controversial comments made by Cristina Ferreira in “Two at 10” when she was talking about the news of a young woman who was raped.
“I need your help, I’m a little confused. If an artist participates in a comedy festival that has the head of Seinfeld poster, it automatically means to subscribe to its ideals and values, then, in that order of ideas, to work on TVI, after the editing has issued a deplorable statement in response to the position of ERC unfavorable to what Cristina Ferreira had said about a specific case of rape, it is confusing, I know, it means automatically to subscribe to the positioning of the channel ", started by introducing Filipa Torrinha Nunes.
“ Because we applaud so much all the artists who have given up the show, I wonder what it will be like to apply this same method in other types of situations”, he added.
“ And while I respect very much and find it very valid all those who have given up, and are actually on the same side of the barricade of values as me, the reality is that it is still associated with a certain ideological folklore, which not only in practice does not work as well, but is also more noisy than effective,” he added in a video he published on his Instagram page.
ERC condemns TVI by approach to case rape in Cristina's program
Recalling that, recently, the Regulatory Board of the Regulatory Body for Social Communication (ERC) concluded that TVI “did not observe antenna ethics” in an interview with Cristina Ferreira about a case of rape, which the regulator says relativize and justify the aggressors.
The ERC indicated that “declarations were made about a case of sexual rape that attenuates the severity of the aggressors’ actions and the violence perpetrated.”.
For the regulator, “the framework given to the subject often places the victim’s non-consent as doubtable, transferring responsibility and guilt to himself, establishing a cause/effect relationship of sexual violence, placing in it the potential to ‘avoid’ such outcome.”.
In question are Cristina Ferreira’s statements in the program “Two at 10”, in April, about the case of the four influencers accused of, in 2025, having raped a 16-year-old teenager and filmed the sexual acts in Loures.
In response, TVI passed a note and also expressed: “[...] It is important to stress that TVI understands that we are facing a case of disproportionateness and misadjustment of reality by the ERC, which in similar situations involving other television channels adopted different attitudes. It is considered unfair and inadequate, the decision of the ERC, while repeating TVI’s commitment to independence, pluralism and respect for the freedom of opinion that the constitution of the Portuguese Republic, fortunately, consecrates.”
In the face of this response, the influencer Kiko is Hot reacted: “My words are missing, so maybe I will use a song from the great Plutonio to describe this moment.” And then he put a little excerpt from the theme “Shame in the Face”.
It should also be remembered that in the case of the controversy with the humor festival Commedia a la Carte Fest, which will take place from 29 October to 1 November, in Lisbon, since Jerry Seinfeld is the head of the poster, several artists who were part of the event, such as Inês Aires Pereira, Onion Mol, Pedro Torchas, Carolina Deslandes, Barbara Tinoco and Tatanka, who cancelled the participation. This is because they do not agree with the political opinions of the American humorist, Israel's advocate, who is in conflict with Palestine.
What else is being discussed in this situation is the possibility that the cancellations were made after the artists said yes to the invitation even though they knew that Seinfeld was head of the poster, considering that the ideas and opinions of the comedian have been known longer and are not impositions of now.
