Uthe federal judge denied, this Wednesday, that the brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate was released on bail, a request made by the duo – and that US justice should have decided two weeks ago. In August, the judge in charge decided to postpone the decision, but it's now known that the two will remain in the Miami prison facility in Florida.
It should be noted that the brothers wanted to be extradited to the United Kingdom, where they also have nationality.
The brothers have been detained since 18 July, and are wanted by British justice, which accuses them of nearly 60 crimes of rape, human trafficking, sexual exploitation and pornography.
Brothers' attorney Joe McBride has also been saying that the charges are politically motivated and that they are an attempt against freedom of expression.
In 2016, the duo moved to Romania, where they are also accused by justice, including crimes of trafficking in minors, money laundering and for having sex with a minor.
By the end of August, lawyers heard by the media said that it was difficult for the brothers Tate managed to get out on bail, as there was a “general fear that they could escape if he was guaranteed bail”.
At the same time, the legal representatives of the brothers talked about the duo, saying that their clients were not as rich as they seemed. “Andrew and Tristan are social media personalities. Their business model depends on online attention,” the lawyers stressed, realizing that “the more exaggerated and extravagant the publications are, the greater the probability of having tastes, views and interaction, which in turn generates money. They are a representation”.
The statements arose because lawyers argued that the images of the brothers Tate in luxury cars and yachts should not be taken into account as proof of their heritage: “A promotional video filmed on board a yacht does not constitute proof of ownership of the vessel. The ‘superiate’ does not belong to Tate; they received payments to promote it on social networks.”
And then the lawyers added: “In addition, Tate are involved in various businesses that ‘teach’ men to make money. It is in their interest to present themselves on social networks as extremely rich.”
As for the supercars used and placed on social networks, lawyers explained that from the $2 million Aston Martin to the seven million Bugattis... “they are rented”.
