“ Athat would be my debut at the MED Festival will unfortunately have to be postponed – an insurmountable physical unforeseen forces me to return to Loulé with the very dear advisors in the next edition of this festival that so many expectations have created us”, says the musician in a message shared today on social networks, in his official account, in the agency that represents him, Vachier & Associados, and in the MED.

Sérgio Godinho's performance in MED was scheduled for Thursday, first day of the festival. In its replacement, the Vitorino stage rises, which will present the show of celebration “50 years to Semear Salsa à Reguinho”.

“Sear Salsa ao Reguinho” is Vitorino’s debut album, produced by Fausto, originally edited in 1975. Last year, the album was reissued, with new costumes and themes in collaboration with artists like Buba Espinho, Cuca Roseta, Jorge Palma, Tim, and Rui Veloso.

The 22nd edition of the MED Festival takes place in the historical area of Loulé between Thursday and Sunday.

The poster includes artists and bands such as Goran Bregovic (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Seun Kuti with The Egypt 80 (Nigeria/France), Salif Keita (Mali), Tiken Jah Fakoly (Ivorian Coast), Asian Dub Foundation (United Kingdom), Los Van Van (Cuba), Calle Mambo (Chile), Arooj Aftab (Pakistan), Natacha Atlas (Egypt/Belgium), Bohemian Betyars (Hungria), Tangomotan (France), Bonga (Angola), Lura (Capo Verde), Transatlantic Express (Portugal) and Fidju Kitxora (Portugal/Cabo Verde).

According to the organization, in this edition the enclosure is expanded, there is a new space, the MED Lounge, and it is made “the full integration of the Loulé Municipal Market as part of the festival and with a continuous programming in space”.

In addition, a new entrance is created in the enclosure, next to Largo de S. Francisco, keeping the two that already existed: between the Municipal Market and the City Hall, and on the access street to Loulé Castle, next to Café Pancinha.

The festival’s programming will also include a new MED Conference Cycle, “which invites personalities linked to the artistic world and not only”.

Three-day passes (25, 26 and 27 June) cost 40 euros.

Daily tickets for 25, 26 and 27 June cost 15 euros.

The last day of the festival, June 28, has free admission, and children aged up to 12 do not pay tickets in any day.

The MED Festival is organized by the Municipality of Loulé.
