On Monday, the Spanish Railway Union will hold the first of the two days of 24-hour strike announced, which will result in the cancellation of 320 high-speed, long and medium-distance trains.

O union denounces the failure to comply with the agreements reached in November 2023 between the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility and the legal representation of the workers who allowed the deconvocation of the strike foreseen in Renfe, and the “premeditated abandonment” of the Goods service.
After this strike on Monday, is called a second on the next day of July 15.
Based on the minimum service resolution decreed by the Ministry for this Monday, of the 360 high-speed and long-distance trains scheduled, the circulation of 98 is suspended and of the 642 medium-distance, 222 are cancelled, while between the high-speed and long-distance trains and the medium-distance trains are suspended 320.
Thus, they will circulate in minimum services 262 high speed and long distance trains and 420 medium distance.
Minimum services will provide 73% of high-speed trains and 65% of medium-distance trains.
The Ministry highlights the “special disorder” that can cause travelers the strike called this Monday, of great movement by coinciding the mobility of a working day with the end of the weekend in an estival month, which leads to an important increase in travel.
